Transmission of traditional knowledge
Samburu is an indigenous community in northern Kenya. The community has got structured and organized community groupings in clans, sub clans, age sets and age grades for men and women respectively. The Samburu are strongly bound to their cultural practices, norms, beliefs, traditions, nature and spirituality.
SWT advances the transmission of traditional knowledge from the elderly to the young generation through documentation of indigenous knowledge that includes spiritual attachment of the samburu to their Supreme Being, cultural rituals and practices, traditional conflict resolution mechanisms, traditional court processes, traditional herbs and their uses and the indigenous samburu food stuffs.
This aims at recognizing, protecting and defending the good culture of the samburu and more importantly to make sure that the traditional knowledge is inherited by the children from their fore fathers. This is achieved through documentation
